TEXAS LAST MEAL
ROBERT JEAN HUDSON
November 20, 2008

Last Meal: Hudson had a final meal request of fried chicken legs and thighs, sirloin steak, corn on the cob, banana pudding, peach cobbler, chocolate chip ice cream, grape soda and milk.

Last words and such: Hudson repeatedly expressed love to his wife and a friend who watched through a window and ignored four relatives of his victim as they watched through another window into the death chamber. "I will take you to heaven with me, I will always be with you. Now pray with this young man down here and we'll go," he said, nodding to the chaplain who stood at his feet. Hudson then prayed the Lord's Prayer and concluded by again expressing love. "I am yours and we are one. Let's go, warden," he said.

OHIO LAST MEAL
GREGORY BRYANT-BEY
November 19, 2008

Last/Special Meal: Bryant-Bey had a final special meal of three pieces of fried chicken, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, cherry pie with strawberry ice cream and a cola.

Last words and such: "My heart was seeking a sense of fairness and a dose of justice, but it was not to be," Bryant-Bey said, clutching a rosary. He also made an extensive statement claiming he was framed "based on false evidence" by Lucas County law enforcement officials. He read his final words from a hand-written two page statement.

TEXAS LAST MEAL
DENARD SHA MANNS
November 6, 2008

Last Meal: Manns had a final meal request of fried chicken quarters, two dozen fried shrimp, two-and-half pounds of onion rings and fries, turkey salad with onion, peppers and cherry tomatoes with blue cheese dressing, salt, pepper and garlic powder, half-dozen soft onion rolls with assorted cheeses, chilled apple juice and milk.

Last Words and such: In a brief statement from the death house gurney, Manns criticized his lawyers for what he said was an unjust trial and an appeals lawyer for what he contended were phony appeals claims. But he thanked another appeals attorney for taking on his case when the lawyer no longer was supposed to be involved. "I'm ready for the transition," he said. Manns then uttered what appeared to be a brief prayer three times, "From Allah he came and from Allah he shall return."

TEXAS LAST MEAL
GEORGE H. WHITAKER III
November 12, 2008

Last Meal: Whitaker had a final meal request of four fried chicken thighs, french fries with ketchup and hot sauce on the side, peach cobbler, two pints of vanilla ice cream and orange juice.

Last Words and such: Whitaker apologized to the parents of his 16-year old victim, "I apologize for the pain and suffering I caused," said Whitaker. "I pray Lord, please forgive me." He then smiled at his own family members as they watched his final moments through a window in Texas' death house. He told them not to forget him and asked them to take care of his two children. As the lethal drugs began flowing, he said: "You all take care. I love y'all. I'm going on to sleep."
